If customer select bank transfer mode during checkout initial order status pending. I need to change the order status processing by manually before creating an invoice.
Note: If I set initial status processing by default, supposed online payment cancel status also display like processing, now the
online status is canceled the order status mode pending, that's why am
not set initial status processing by default.
The reason virtual products go to complete status after creating an invoice is because a shipment is not required as the product does not need to be physically delivered - the behaviour is deliberate.
If you have external software generating an invoice you will either have to work on integration between the two systems so that a Magento invoice is created at the point the external invoice is generated (perhaps have the external system poll a Magento URL with an order id and have some logic to generate an invoice for the order) or wait for the external system to generate the invoice and only at this point manually create the Magento invoice to complete the order.
I can give you an example how to add additional status to existed payment method.
Magento by default in system / configuration has such as 'New Order Status'.

<source_model>adminhtml/system_config_source_order_status_new</source_model>
with:
<source_model>adminhtml/system_config_source_order_status_newprocessing</source_model>

Go to System->Order Statuses -> Click the button Assign Status to State -> select your new status (Processing) and the state (New) and save status Assignment.
Then, you should see your new status (Processing) in the dropdown on the order view page.
