Is is possible to add color fill patterns to standard design layer colors in Altium Designer? I can only find and use solid and transparent colors for all design layers, but cannot figure out if or how to give colors a fillstyle.
This example (taken from EAGLE ) shows a top metal pad (red) with solder mask over it ( grey with hatched pattern ) Is it possible to make design layers appear similarly hatched in Altium?
When you design your schematic component, assign Designators to the pins, e.g. A + B or 1 + 2, .... In your PCB Library item (the one that is linked to your schematic symbol) use the Place -> Pad, select "Multi-Layer" as Layer, enter a hole size (.7mm) and a pad size (e.g 1.5x1.5mm) and you're done, name the two pads A + B (same name as in the schematic).
Now when you transfer your schematic design to your PCB, Altium will assign the appropriate nets to your pads.

Then you have to create a channel class in which include all your channel. To do that go to Design->Classes and put all your channel in your channel class (in the example below cahnnel class=IN and members INA, INB etc..)
The when you copy a room format you can find now your brand new channel class. Select all the channel or only those you want to be copied and you're done. All changes will be applied at once to all channel selcted!

There is also this youtube video which shows how to set layer transparencies really easily, but you need Altium Designer 13 or above.
This is as close as I can find to help you, otherwise have a look at Mechanical Layer 1 for 3D objects and maybe find how they do the purple diagonal cross hatching to show 3D bodies in 2D mode.. maybe there is something you can take from those view options and apply them to your needs?
