I have a SOT-23 SMD transistor marked "2.X L" as shown in the image.
I managed to find out that "2X" stands for 2N4401 and the dot seems to mean "lead free". But I couldn't find the meaning of the perpendicular "L". I think it could be a "date code" but I'm not sure and I don't know either what its purpose is (e.g. does it affect the pinout?).
I would appreciate any help.

It appears to be a BS250 P-MOSFET. Here's one with similar markings at bg-electronics.de
The bars on the top of the S and 4 mean "Non Lead-Free Marking".
Production year is 2005, week 4.
The dot of the \$\underset{\bullet}{\vert}\$ mark is the pin 1 marking (do check the datasheet, it has a pin numbering as well).
The combination of \$\underset{\bullet}{\vert}\$ means it was manufactured by a Philippine Subcontractor.

It is a date/manufacturing code. Does not change pinout in any way.
