microphonesimulation
I am working with a circuit that consists of a condenser microphone. The circuit will filter through all sound signals except very sharp high pitch sound. But I cannot find any circuit simulator that has microphone component. I have tried CircuitLogix, QUCS, LTspice etc.
I understand that sound signals may be simulated but it would be great if this simulated component could get signals from microphone in my computer. Is there any simulator like this?
Your sample rate must be twice the maximum frequency of interest. This is the Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem. If you want hi-fidelity audio, your maximum frequency is the limit of human hearing, about 20kHz. Human voice is less demanding: telephone networks work up to about 3400 Hz.
You will find that the AVR's ADC isn't terribly fast, and you don't have much resources to process the data. So probably, your hardware limitations will dictate the sample rate for you.
You probably don't need to worry about codecs. A codec encodes and decodes an audio stream. A common thing to do is compress the audio for more efficient storage or transmission, but it doesn't sound like you are doing either. There are codecs that encode and decode for reasons other than compression, but I can't think of any that would be relevant here. Your computing resources are very limited on the microcontroller anyway, and you won't have much time for encoding or decoding anyway.
The noise is very unlikely to be coming from any of the components in the circuit. The biggest culprit is likely to be the power supply. Add a 22uF and 0.1 uF (helps with high frequencies) capacitor and a 100 ohm resistor that feed the electret part of the circuit and a 22uF across the 5V supply.

Multisim is able to record from a microphone and use it as input signal, but not in real-time.
LTspice can read from a .wav file, in this case you can use an audio editor (like Audacity) to record.
