I am using Altium Designer 17 in my institute, but in my laptop I have Circuit Studio 1.4. Schematic file made in Altium Designer can be opened in Circuit Studio.
Is it possible to open layout file in Circuit Studio, generated by Altium Designer? Is there any conversion software available to convert the files between the two?
I checked the available file importers for Altium and I don't see ARES or .LYT listed. Even if there were such an importer available, you would need an Altium license to be able to use it.
However, there are many many pcb fab shops available, and 90% (or more) of them accept either gerber files or ODB++ rather than design files for any particular design tool. And 90% (or more) of the design tools can produce one or both of these formats.
Gerber is the older and simpler format. But it does need some external documentation like the units (inches or mm) used, and requires more manual handling by the fab shop. ODB++ is more modern and allows more automated handling by the fab hsop, but not all tools seem to have complete support for it yet.
If your tool can't produce either gerber or ODB++ then it's time to start learning a new tool.
If your vendor won't accept gerber or ODB++, it's time to start looking for another vendor.
I have downloaded the design you are dealing with. The gerber files, all layer files have .PHO extension.
If you rename the files as follows you will be able to open them in Altium:
I have identified the layers by the PDF appendix. For Pastemask (GBP, GBT) and Silkscreen layers you should search for their Altium extensions.
These modified files can be dragged and dropped into Altium, example for Top layer:
This way all layer files are easily openable in Altium.
Select the Menu → Tables → Layers Order option. Following dialog will be shown: Fill the cells as below.
Enable the Export to PCB option as follows: Menu → Tools → Netlist → Extract.

Now, select Menu → File → Export → Export to PCB and a new PCB document will be opened with the Top Layer.

To open an Altium Designer PCB document in CircuitStudio do the following:
In Altium Designer Save your PCB as a PCB 5.0 binary file. Do this by going to file > save as > from the pulldown menu choose PCB5.0 Binary
In CircuitStudio go to file > import and choose the PCB5.0 binary file you just created.
that should work.
If you're using Altium Designer 18 (which I know you are not currently using) you would just need to go to file > export and choose CircuitStudio (in Altium Designer).
