Taking into account the advantages of triphase current in relation to monophase current, I keep wondering if a multi-phase current such as heptaphase would be more advantageous than triphase. Does anybody know if this has been tried or proven?

The current through the LED is limited by the "22R" resistor. Lowering the resistance value will increase the current and thus brightness. make sure the PNP transistor is also rated for the current. A "darlington pair" of transistors has a much higher gain and can be used for higher-current applications.
Current will be (6 - 2.0 - 0.2) / R.
- 6v supply
- 2.0v (approximate) drop across a red LED (blue may be up to 3.3v)
- 0.2v drop across the collector/emitter transistor junction
The cycle time will be a function of the 10u capacitor and 22R. Lowering the capacitance and/or resistance will make it cycle faster (I think :-).
The big problem is that you didn't draw the schematic properly. A good schematic always makes the things clear:

The current is \$I = \frac{U}{I}\$
I0 = I1+I2
I0 = (5V-2.065V)/270 = 10.87037037mA
I1 = (2.065V - 1.863V)/100 = 2.02mA
I2 = I0 - I1 = 8.85037037mA

Generally the fewer conductors you have to route the better. Biphase requires 3 conductors, triphase also requires 3 conductors (when balanced), so triphase is used for preference.
Triphase is already enough achieve constant torque in motors and generators, so there seems to be little incentive to increase the number of phases.
DC bus rectifiers do use hexaphase, and even duodecaphase (12), as these are easy to make from the existing triphase supply, giving a steady DC supply from the rectifier.
