Power factor of a dc machine

electric-machine

To some this might be a weird question, But I am really confused about the definition of reactive power(of what I know, I think it is used to create magnetic flux)..
If am correct, then how is the power factor of a DC machine unity, when it also requires some current to maintain flux across electromagnets.

(A beginner in field of machines)..

The thing about DC machines is .. they draw DC (ish) current from a DC bus. The concept of PowerFactor doesn't really exist for DC networks

Within the DC machine however, there is actually AC and yes there will be a powerfactor associated with the magnetic circuit
