Magento – Add Facebook’s Custom Audience Pixel Code into Magento

I need to add a Custom Audience Pixel Code for Facebook into my Magento site. The instructions say to paste this inbetween the tags, which is simple with basic websites but a lot more complex with Magento.

Any idea where to add this?

It depends upon what do you want to achieve, there are several ways you can do it in Magento. Either you can create a custom module or copy paste the given pixel tracking code in head.phtml or footer.phtml. Both these methods will install your custom audience pixel tracking on your Magento site.

If you chose latter, just make sure you add this in your custom theme instead of base theme because base theme will be overwritten with your next Magento upgrade.

But bear in mind that custom facebook audience pixel tracking does come with standard and custom events which is far more work than adding pixel tracking code in head or footer section of your Magento site. For more information regarding these events use the following link

There are two way to add css to head one is using function addCss and another is addItem. You have mix-up two format. Your format is wrong.

try this

<action method="addCss">
    <stylesheet>css/javcustom.css</stylesheet>
</action>

instead of

<action method="addCss">
    <type>skin_css</type>
    <file>css/javcustom.css</file>
</action>

or try this

<action method="addItem">
    <type>skin_css</type>
    <name>css/javcustom.css</name>

Magento – How to create “buy now” button which should redirects to onepage checkout

The add to cart request is a GET request that among other params, it can contain a uenc param with can hold a base64 encoded return URL. The user is redirected to that URL upon return from add to cart.

You can simply create a new button that you add anywhere on the page, that on click will do a GET request to a URL like https://example.com/checkout/cart/add/product/XYZ/uenc/aHR0cHM6Ly9leGFtcGxlLmNvbS9jaGVja291dC9vbmVwYWdlCg==/ where aHR0cHM6Ly9leGFtcGxlLmNvbS9jaGVja291dC9vbmVwYWdlCg== is base64 encoded https://example.com/checkout/onepage
