Magento 2.1 – Don’t Display Swatches on Product Listing

I want that the swatches display only in the product detail, but not on the product listing.

I'm looking for the option to do not display the swatch options on product list, but I only find how to do it in magento 1.x, and I need to do it in magento 2.1.3

Where is the option to hide the swatch options in magento 2?

Edit: I should say that I was looking for the 'option to hide swatch options' in the admin menu, hide the whole block doesn't work for what I needed.

Finally I found the answer to my question, and I'm going to share it because maybe it helps somebody in the future:

1.- Enter to admin panel

2.- Stores (left menu)

3.- Product (under attribute section)

4.- Select the attribute you want to edit, for example color

5.- Storefront Properties (in the Attribute Information menu on the left)

6.- Look for Used in product listing option and set it to NO

And then you will hide this concrete attribute in the product list. Not very intuitive, but quite easy.

To show configurable swatch on Home Page in Feature Products List, follow the below steps -

1- Make your own list.phtml file for custom products list 2- in your list.phtml file select place where you want to show configurable swatches, and paste below code -

$_nameAfterChild = $this->getLayout()->getBlock('product_list.swatches');
$_nameAfterChild->setProduct($_product);
echo $_nameAfterChild->toHtml();

3- Include this file in Home Page in CMS using below code -

{{block type="catalog/product_list" column_count="5" category_id="21" template="catalog/product/homepage-list.phtml"}}

4- In local.xml file in your theme paste below code -

    <cms_index_index>
         <update handle="product_list"/>
    </cms_index_index>

Magento 2.1.6 Configurable Product – Fix Swatches Issue

We faced a similar type of issue in Magento 2.1.6 and upgrade the version to 2.1.7 based on some git hub article for the fix but still, the issue persists.

After doing further debugging we came to know that this issue is with catalog flat table which was enabled. When we disable the catalog flat table the configurable products swatches are started working. Please check your configuration once.

Store → Configuration → Catalog → Catalog → Use Flat Catalog Product → No
