Magento – How to display selectable attributes in product listing

I want to display a size attribute in product listing as shown in the image

I created an attribute and configurable product. In the product detail page i am able to select attributes. I set 'Used in Product Listing to yes' for the attribute. I am not able to show it in the frontend listing. Is there any way to show attribute like this?.

This is not a trivial task. There is a good tutorial by Inchoo how to achieve it.

Pasting just a link as an answer is not a good practice but the solution is too complex with lot's of code chunks to be posted.

I can add that I tried this solution by myself and it works flawlessly.

Magento already has a block that displays the attributes in the view page. It is called Mage_Catalog_Block_Product_View_Attributes. See this as demo (additional information section).
All the attributes that have is_visible_on_front are displayed in that section.

The only down side is that it shows event he attributes that don't have a value.
To overcome this, just rewrite the method getAdditionalData in that block and replace

Note: Don't Edit in Core files. Make rewrite or copy the folder structure in to local code pool.
