How to Translate City/Region Dropdown in Magento 2

put an alert('test'); in your js file or check in debugger tool whether your js is getting called or not, if it gets called then use this in you file:

jQuery('document').on('change', '**identifier-of-the-field**', function(){
   //opertation to be performed
});

Create a gender.phtml file under

app/design/frontend/Your_Theme/default/Magento_Customer/templates/widget/

and add the following code:

This will display the gender field in Customer Registration and in customer's account Edit Account Information as radio. Hope that helps!
