AJP Checksum Error

I am looking into a TCP capture with Wireshark and I am seeing numerous AJP errors that look similar to below coming from our Apache server. I'm wondering what is causing these errors and what I can do to resolve them?

AJP13 Error?[Unreassembled
Packet [incorrect TCP checksum]]

Checksum: 0x66ff [incorrect, should be
0x0912 (maybe caused by "TCP checksum
offload"?)]

Your network card has told the TCP stack that it can handle the TCP checksum calculation in hardware. This means the fields in the TCP header that are passed down the stack lack a checksum, as the card said it will add them before it puts them on the wire.

Unfortunately this means that anything snooping on the packet on the way out of the machine will see a packet without a correct checksum because the two bytes that make up the checksum retain the previous value of whatever data was written to that area of memory previously.

It turns out that this version (classes12 - quite old) of the Oracle driver had various bugs in it that caused a deadlock (as seen in the TP-Processor2 state quoted above). It didn't become active until we switched to the new environment. Upgrading to the latest version (ojdbc14) has resolved the issue on the primary server.

Make sure that:

you type a trailing slash http://host/tomcat7/, not http://host/tomcat7.

you have a AJP 1.3 connector listen on port 8009 in server.xml:

<Connector port="8009" protocol="AJP/1.3" redirectPort="8443" />

If it still doesn't work, I suggest you turning on debug and take a look at mod_jk.log.

EDIT:

If you use:

JkMount  /tomcat7/* worker1

and access via http://host/tomcat7, I'm sure you will get the Apache 404 error.

You can specify JkMount in a Virtual Host section which you want:

<VirtualHost *:80>
    ServerName  xx
    ServerAdmin xx

    JkMount /tomcat7 worker1
    JkMount /tomcat7/* worker1
</VirtualHost>
