Apache log – file does not exist

I have quite a few of these in Apache logs piling up every day:

[Mon Jun 09 20:42:58 2014] [error] [client 180.153.214.181] File does not exist: /home/user/public_html/ajax.googleapis.com, referer: http://www.mysite.com//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js

I have over 200k visitors per day but a few of them like a dozen or so are generating the above error. I can't figure out what may be causing it. Checked the html code and it's all good so I ran out of ideas.

seems like wherever you're referencing to ajax.googleapis.com and/or jquery.min.js you're missing http:// part.

look for jquery.min.js inside of your code grep -r 'jquery.min.js' . and add http:// in there and i think error will go away.

Check your log files to see what the server is actually attempting to pull. I'd be willing to bet that this is either an issue with file permissions, or something in the servers config, related to document roots or some such. Realistically though we really need more information, and maybe a few examples, etc...

CentOS: AJAX/jQuery not working

In short, it looks like your PHP install is busted or configured incorrectly and is not parsing the page properly. Looking at the source of your page, I see the following:

<? include "config.php"; ?>

<? include "plug.php"; ?>

PHP should be parsing these and doing its thing. You need to make sure the PHP module is being loaded into Apache properly and is parsing the correct php.ini file.

Create a file with the following contents to verify if PHP is being loaded. If it is, you should get a load of information about your PHP install.

phpinfo();
?>

If PHP is definitely being loaded, then it's short tags that's the problem. Either enable short tags in the php.ini file or change your <? to <?php.
