Check_mk Nagios Plugins

I am trying to move from Nagios to OMD, however, I have a Nagios plugin which I really need (phpfpm) but I am unable to add the plugin to check_mk.

On the check_mk website says that you should use MRPE however, when I try to run the "cmk" command my OS is complaining that the command doesn't exist.

What you guys are suggesting I could use to run Nagios plugins from OMD?

I am running CentOS with OMD 1.20 installed.

I guess you need to configure /etc/check_mk/mrpe.cfg on the host you want to monitor like described in the CheckMK documentation. You also need to put your Nagios Plugins on the host you want to monitor.

When you finished that you can run cmk -I --checks=mrpe host-to-monitor from OMD. To get to the OMD console of your CheckMK instance use su - name-of-your-omd-instance

As a starting point:

If you define the nagios groups from within WATO, it'll be possible to assign everything via the GUI.

In the documentation for LDAP the key line is probably this one:

"The user is added to all contactgroups where the user is member of a group in LDAP whichs CN is exactly matching the name of the contactgroup." (you have to also enable that feature, but what I want to point at is the group matching)

So, if you have a LDAP group unix-admins you should also define a contact group "unix-admins" via WATO. That can then be assigned a certain WATO folder or specific services as the/a contact to notify.

I would first try to reduce the complexity of the script to let's say...

echo "Hello World" and see if that works.
More than that, NRPE is usually ran by the user which is called nrpe (unless specified otherwise) so when you run your checks, run them from the nrpe user rather than from root.
Also make sure that "dont_blame_nrpe" is set to "1" in nrpe.cfg on the monitored machine.
Another thing you can try is wrapping this:

cmd /c echo c:\install\veeam_check.ps1 ; exit($lastexitcode) | powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -noninteractive -noprofile -File -

within a batch file (.bat) and then change the command in NRPE to something simpler like so:

command[check_veeam_dailyone]=yourscript.bat

Then try to run the command again and see if that works.
