Cloud shell editor not working in GCP

In one of my account the Cloud shell is working fine but cloud shell editor is not working on Google Chrome. I tried to open the same in Firefox and it is working perfectly. Also, I tried the same on different laptop and issue still persist for google chrome.

Either it keeps on trying to connect or I get the error shown below:

Has anyone faced such issue and has any idea what to do?

File Editor runs on Theia IDE and requires third party cookies to work (Theia got incorporated into Cloud Shell quite recently).

Workaround for this is to click the "eye" icon in the right if the address bar and then "site not working ?" and "allow cookies".

There's already an issue opened up at Google's Issuetracker for this and Google is aware of this but feel free to +1 yurself and paste any comments.

Google Compute Engine does not allow outbound connection on ports 25, 465 and 587. Moreover port 25 is also blocked for SMTP relay through G Suite as mentioned here:

Note: Port 25 is always blocked and cannot be used, even through SMTP relay using Google Apps.

As a workaround, you can use trusted third party providers such as SendGrid, Mailgun, or Mailjet to setup mail function on GCE or use port 465, 587 for STMP relay using G suite on GCE instance. You can find more information and steps on this link.

Firewall – google cloud firewall rule not working

I think you should change the settings of your Tomcat config to listen to 0.0.0.0 in server.xml (as per this other answer suggests).
