Debian – systemctl not found on debian squeeze

I want to execute

systemctl enable  perl-fcgi.service

But I get

bash: systemctl: command not found

Why is there no systemctl on debian 6.0 and how can I get it?

It's in the systemd package. It's not there because you haven't installed it.

For the JRE, something like this should do the trick:

JAVA_HOME=$(readlink -f /usr/bin/java | sed "s:bin/java::")

Open up /etc/apt/sources.list, and you should see lines like the following (URLs will likely vary):

deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian stable main contrib

Simply add non-free to the respective URLs you wish to use, i.e.:

 deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free

Running apt-get update will update your local repo with the package listing.
