I have a windows 2008 server running an ERP system. This system can send mail from within the application by calling the standard mailto action. Our users connect to the server through RDP and I want to use the connected client his mail program, not the local server mail program (which is not installed).
Does anyone have a bright idea on how to solve this?
First of I really did not do much work here, I just found the following post and tested it. Everything works great.

You will find that through trial and error this guy made 3 .reg files that can be installed during a users session. One will give 96dpi, one gives 120dpi, and one gives 144dpi. As I said I ran it with admins and limited users and both worked just fine. The users will have to log off for the changes to take affect, but they will not effect anyone else, just that user. The zip file that contains the 3 .reg files is found at this link.

From the chart, it should be evident how ridiculous the pursuit of 100% uptime is...

That would need to be a custom application that uses RDP virtual channels. This is not trivial, and would require installing the custom-developed component on both the terminal server and remote desktop client.
Virtual Channels is how all RDP redirection functions work, such as audio, clipboard, printing, and drive redirection.
