Nagios – How to Stop/Disable Nagios Email Notifications

How Can I stop the email notifications. I am setting up a new server and getting tons of notifications. Wants to disable them for time being.

Click on "Process Info" in the left nav pane, and then "Disable Notifications", then "Commit".

Assuming that the guest can reach the web interface, the following command lines should work:

To disable notifications

curl -d "cmd_typ=23&cmd_mod=2&host=[THE HOST]&service=[THE SERVICE]&btnSubmit=Commit" "http://[[NAGIOS SERVER]/nagios/cgi-bin/cmd.cgi"

To enable notifications

curl -d "cmd_typ=22&cmd_mod=2&host=[THE HOST]&service=[THE SERVICE]&btnSubmit=Commit" "http://[[NAGIOS SERVER]/nagios/cgi-bin/cmd.cgi"

Depending on your setup, you may also need to use the --insecure or --user options of curl.

And IIRC, the cmd_type number is different for service and host groups -- look at what links are being used in your web browser.

open up your nagios console

Select Reports > Alerts > Summary
Under Custom Report Options, Set Report Type to "Alert Totals" (or one of the options like this for finer grained reporting
Set the Report Period to "* CUSTOM REPORT PERIOD *"
Set the start date and end dates appropriately
Apply any other filters that you would like (hostgroups, hosts etc)
It is not necessary to adjust Max List Items as this report is quite short.
Click on Create Summary Report

Done!
