Reboot solaris to “ok” prompt

I need to reboot a solaris sparc machine to the "ok" prompt so I can do a net jumpstart reinstallation on a machine. I have remote access to the machine via the ALOM. How can do do this?

If you have system console, you can issue an "init 0" to shut the machine down without rebooting. This should drop you to an "ok". You may need to send a stop-a if the "ok" doesn't appear. Sometimes the system hangs going down.

Search for the appropriate FMRI :

antoine@opensolaris:~# svcs mysql
STATE          STIME    FMRI
online         May_21   svc:/application/database/mysql:version_50

Restart the service in question :

svcadm restart mysql:version_5

Solaris WANboot & Jumpstart SPARC/x86

Both can be set up on a single machine. You'll need separate binary executables for each ISA, of course, and separate binary boot files for each supported architecture. The jumpstart/diskless boot server is basically acting as a network file store (albeit with some special, not filesystem protocols), so its architecture can be separate from the client.
