Sybase ase 15.0.3 64 bit install error

I have a 32bit machine installed with 64 bit suse10 linux.
I then tried installing a 64bit sybase on it but the sybase installation fails the moment i launch ./setup with below error:
Searching for Java(tm) Virtual Machine…
……..
Running InstallShield Wizard…

An unhandled error occurred — specify system property "is.debug" for more information.

the install shield wizard fails to launch..

I tried replacing the JVM folder in sybase installation dump but it doesn't help.
how do i use this is:debug property?

has any one encountered such an error?

problem solved. probably due to permissions not available on the dir along the path of install dump or on /tmp.

AFAIK ISQL doesn't always need a go (or a ";", which will equally serve as a terminator. T-SQL commands may be allocated on consecutive lines without separator, the parser will handle that.

How to dump a Sybase database in quiesced mode

quiescing a database suspends updates to the database. Essentially making sure nothing happens to the data data while you're dumping or doing some other action.

Note: "hold_tag" can be any string you choose.

From isql (or whatever you use to connect to the db), just run (as sa, or equivalent)

quiesce database hold_tag hold database, database, etc

To resume operation run

quiesce database hold_tag release

In your case I would specify that you intend to do a dump

quiesce database hold_tag hold database for external dump
