WSUS Feature Update Fails Error 0x80244019

I applied the hotfix KB3095113 to WSUS in Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard to enable feature updates in Windows 10 1511. Updates began showing up. I approved the new version of windows (1607) and it downloaded fine. When I try to update, the client computer sees the update, show the "Preparing to Install Updates" message then the "Downloading Updates" message. Both get to 100% then I get the Error 0x80244019.

I've tried this on several different clients and get the same result. The client computers can still get normal updates such as cumulative updates for 1511. I have tried re-installing WSUS on the server and cleaning it. Someone suggested turning of "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows." but this has no affect.

Seems like a reboot was all that was needed after adjusting the bypass-list, which must contain <local> so the WinHTTP proxy is bypassed for your local WSUS installation:

netsh winhttp set proxy proxy-server="http=www-proxy:8080" bypass-list="*.domain.example.com;<local>"

Alternatively, if you're already setting the correct proxy in IE (through group policy, for example), you can simply import those settings into WinHTTP:

netsh winhttp import proxy source=ie

To inspect your own current WinHTTP proxy settings, run netsh winhttp show proxy.

WSUS – Client Detecting 0 Updates Solution

This could be several things. I've seen updates unpredictably break WSUS clients, for example. I don't think I've seen a client incorrectly report no updates, however, except when there was a prerequisite update missing.

It looks like you already checked the registry keys, so I'll skip past that.

So I'm going to recommend:

Check for any "prerequisite" update.
The \Windows\SoftwareDistribution directory can get corrupted. Renaming or deleting the folder and running wuauclt /detectnow should help, if so.
