I'm getting this error when I try to log into our Windows Server 2003 SP1 32-bit server via RDP console.

you do not have the proper encryption
level to access this session

Any ideas why this is coming up?

A. Your connection settings do not have encryption on login enabled. Replace your desktop icon with a new copy (right-click and save it to your desktop). If you have set up your connection manually, ensure the encryption level is set to "128-bit Login Only"

poor solution: make a login script. If the connection is not console, logoff:

logoff 1

This will logoff session 1. If you are connecting in rdp through the console, you are session 0 and not 1

you can detect better using qwinsta and a script to check output of it.

This in not an answer the easiest way to check

Start -> Run -> cmd Click Ok.

On the command window type

  set sessionname

This will show if it is console or not
