i am a beginner at asp, i have made a website using asp.net and C#, now i want it to run it on intranet, my laptop being server. But i can't even run the default page that is present after iis installation. I have vista home basic operating system installed on my laptop with iis 7.0.
The error i get is HTTP 404.4 page not found.
The error persists even when i try opening html pages

You need to turn on Windows Features on for IIS 6.0 configuration
Just go Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features On or Off.
In opened window choose which configuration is you want to configure your web application
For more information about IIS7 go to IIS.NET
On the "Error Pages" section in IIS manager select the "Edit Feature Settings..." under the Actions section. Ensure that "Custom error pages" is selected.

According to this thread is not posible to install IIS in Home Basic.
You will need at least Home Premium to run it.
Or "upgrade" to XP :)
