C# – Displaying C# code in WordPress.com

I have researched this for a few hours and I am kind of frustrated. Maybe I am just missing something as I am new to blogging.

I am not hosting my own blog, I am just using WordPress.com.
I want to include snippets of c# code and have them look like they do in Visual Studio, or at least make them look nice, certainly with line numbers and color.
The solutions I have seen for this all seem to assume you are hosting your own blog.
I cannot figure out how to install plugins.

Is there a widget that will make code snippets look nice, or some other solution I can easily use?

EDIT: Sarfraz has outlined one way to solve my problem (thank you!), and I have tried it but there is an issue I have, namely that it does not colorize most of my code (newer keywords like var, from, where, select, etc). Is there a fix to this or is there some other solution?

Just edit your aricles in html mode and enclose your code within these tags.

Example:

Note: You need to specify correct language identifier for the language attribute as shown above.

I've defined the following property as we use this often in unit testing.

        string path = Uri.UnescapeDataString(uri.Path);
        return Path.GetDirectoryName(path);
    }
}

The Assembly.Location property sometimes gives you some funny results when using NUnit (where assemblies run from a temporary folder), so I prefer to use CodeBase which gives you the path in URI format, then UriBuild.UnescapeDataString removes the File:// at the beginning, and GetDirectoryName changes it to the normal windows format.

C# – Try-catch speeding up the code

One of the Roslyn engineers who specializes in understanding optimization of stack usage took a look at this and reports to me that there seems to be a problem in the interaction between the way the C# compiler generates local variable stores and the way the JIT compiler does register scheduling in the corresponding x86 code. The result is suboptimal code generation on the loads and stores of the locals.

For some reason unclear to all of us, the problematic code generation path is avoided when the JITter knows that the block is in a try-protected region.

This is pretty weird. We'll follow up with the JITter team and see whether we can get a bug entered so that they can fix this.

Also, we are working on improvements for Roslyn to the C# and VB compilers' algorithms for determining when locals can be made "ephemeral" -- that is, just pushed and popped on the stack, rather than allocated a specific location on the stack for the duration of the activation. We believe that the JITter will be able to do a better job of register allocation and whatnot if we give it better hints about when locals can be made "dead" earlier.
