C# – Passing value in silverlight

How can pass a value from one page to another page in silverlight.
I have one silver light application which contains two pages, one xaml.cs file and one asmx.cs file. I have one text box in xaml page names Text1. My requirement is that at the time of running, i could pass the textbox value to asmx.cs file. How it will be done?
my code in asmx.cs file is

public string DataInsert(string emp)
    {
        SqlConnection conn = new SqlConnection("Data Source=Nisam\\OFFICESERVERS;Initial Catalog=Employee;Integrated Security=SSPI");
        SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand();
        conn.Open();
        cmd.Connection = conn;
        cmd.CommandText = "Insert into  demo Values (@Name)";
        cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Name", xxx);
        cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
        return "Saved";
    }

the value xxx in code is replaced by the passed value from xaml.cs page. pls help me

Your asmx file is a web service, you will have to invoke web service in your silverlight app to communicate with asmx. And you will need to create appropriate web method with parameters.

Use LINQ:

This would also allow for great flexibility in that you can select the top 10, 20 10%, etc. Or if you are using your word frequency index for type-ahead, you could also include StartsWith clause as well.

C# – the best way to give a C# auto-property an initial value

In C# 5 and earlier, to give auto implemented properties an initial value, you have to do it in a constructor.

Since C# 6.0, you can specify initial value in-line. The syntax is:

public int X { get; set; } = x; // C# 6 or higher

DefaultValueAttribute is intended to be used by the VS designer (or any other consumer) to specify a default value, not an initial value. (Even if in designed object, initial value is the default value).

At compile time DefaultValueAttribute will not impact the generated IL and it will not be read to initialize the property to that value (see DefaultValue attribute is not working with my Auto Property).

Example of attributes that impact the IL are ThreadStaticAttribute, CallerMemberNameAttribute, ...
