In Xcode I have C++ Language Dialect set to "C++0x [-std=c++0x]" and C++ Standard Library set to "libc++ LLVM C++ Standard library with C++0X Support"
Do I need to set something else?
after digging into this for a little, these are the commands to set the appropriate xcode settings:
set(CMAKE_XCODE_ATTRIBUTE_GCC_VERSION "com.apple.compilers.llvm.clang.1_0")
set(CMAKE_XCODE_ATTRIBUTE_CLANG_CXX_LANGUAGE_STANDARD "c++0x")
set(CMAKE_XCODE_ATTRIBUTE_CLANG_CXX_LIBRARY "libc++")
set(CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS "${CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS} -std=c++0x -stdlib=libc++ -g -Wall")
I think setting the c++ flags is redundant, so it might also work without the last line.

An alternative approach would be to extract features (keypoints) using the scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) or Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF).

Both algorithms are invariant to scaling and rotation. Since they work with features, you can also handle occlusion (as long as enough keypoints are visible).

The processing takes a few hundred ms for SIFT, SURF is bit faster, but it not suitable for real-time applications. ORB uses FAST which is weaker regarding rotation invariance.

C++11 Initializer Lists are not yet supported as of Clang 3.0
