Html – ny possibility of rendering differences betweeen firefox 3 and 3.5 and IE 7 and 8, even if we are not using any new css 3 property/selector

I figured it out. You just have to use some special selectors.

The problem with rounding the corners of the table was that the td elements didn't also become rounded. You can solve that by doing something like this:

table tr:last-child td:first-child {
    border-bottom-left-radius: 10px;
}

table tr:last-child td:last-child {
    border-bottom-right-radius: 10px;
}

Now everything rounds properly, except that there's still the issue of border-collapse: collapse breaking everything.

A workaround is to add border-spacing: 0 and leave the default border-collapse: separate on the table.

Seem that MSFT has not consider a large intranet environment that we have many different web application running inside.

There is no way to bypass the IE8 setting, according to somewhere I read on MSDN forum.

So, I will have to beg my system administrators to put some new group policies to change "Compatibility View" setting and the value and prevent user change the value, until MSFT discover this bug and fix it.

From an MSDN blog post (emphasis theirs): "Browser Mode is chosen before IE requests web content. This means that sites cannot choose a Browser Mode."
