Ios – UITableView Cell selected Color

I have created a custom UITableViewCell. The table view is showing data fine. What I am stuck in is when user touches cell of tableview, then I want to show the background color of the cell other than the default [blue color] values for highlighting the selection of cell.
I use this code but nothing happens:

cell.selectedBackgroundView.backgroundColor=[UIColor blackColor];

No need for custom cells. If you only want to change the selected color of the cell, you can do this:

Objective-C:

UIView *bgColorView = [[UIView alloc] init];
bgColorView.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor];
[cell setSelectedBackgroundView:bgColorView];

Swift:

let bgColorView = UIView()
bgColorView.backgroundColor = UIColor.red
cell.selectedBackgroundView = bgColorView

All you have to do is set the selection style on the UITableViewCell instance using either:

Objective-C:

cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleNone;

[cell setSelectionStyle:UITableViewCellSelectionStyleNone];

Swift 2:

cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyle.None

Swift 3 and 4.x:

cell.selectionStyle = .none

Further, make sure you either don't implement -tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath: in your table view delegate or explicitly exclude the cells you want to have no action if you do implement it.

Ios – Eliminate extra separators below UITableView

Interface builder (iOS 9+)

Just drag a UIView to the table. In storyboard, it will sit at the top below your custom cells. You may prefer to name it "footer".

Here it is shown in green for clarity, you'd probably want clear color.

Note that by adjusting the height, you can affect how the "bottom bounce" of the table is handled, as you prefer. (Height zero is usually fine).

To do it programmatically:

Add to the table view controller...
