R – Exporting List Template from the CUstom List created using a Feature

I have created a Custom List Template and wrote the Schema.xml,feature to deploy it,Installed to the server created a List based on that. Everything is fine. Now I wanted to Save this List as template and Deploy it to a different machine (Different SharePoint Server). But that feature is not visible in the Template List, when we try to create a New List. I have experienced it before. I wanted to know if someone else has come across this issue and is there a way to get it working without installing the feature again?

The Reason why I want to do this is that, SharePoint Administrator don't want to allow the custom List Template being deployed as Feature, he wants the things to be created as a STP file. We have created around 40+ Custom List Template and doing all the things manually to get the stp file is not an option. So I wanted to see is there any option so that I can save the existing list created using the Feature be saved as Template and reused.

are you wiring up all of the feature files yourself or using a tool? typically, the 404 means one of the 'magic strings' in your configuration files is off. Also, the directory structure specified here looks suspicious:

You should try deploying all of your feature support files to the same directory. Have you located the error in the ULS log (<12 hive>/LOGS)? That may provide some clues too.

Blank option in drop down disappears from custom Sharepoint list

I think I solved this long time issue after a lot of frustration and trial and error. Everyone seems to think that this is not possible by design, but it is in fact quite simple.

Spaces in column choices seem to be wiped by SharePoint, but I found a blank character in the ASCII table that does not get wiped by the SharePoint engines.

This is ASCII Character 0x81 or 0129.

Non-Blank Space (0160) seems to be swiped too

To create a blank character hold down the 'Alt' key and type '0129' on the NUMERIC KEYPAD.

Alternate option: I used PSPAD editor to create a single character 129 and copied and pasted that in one of my choices type columns and presto: a blank selection appeared in the column selector. I suspect it will work for your solution too.
