R – Incorrect site usage report (Sharepoint)

After restarting "Windows Sharepoint Services Timer" service the "Site usage report" shows only one day of activity (matches the day we restarted the service) while every other day has zeros. I took a look in the "\LOGS\" dir and is plenty of logs with the visit's information for the whole year! Why the usage report ignores it? I think maybe the log file of the day showed could have some kind of mark that the other ones doesn't…

I know it's obvious, but I'll mention it anyway, did you change the option in the dropdown at the top of the report from 'Daily' to 'Month Summary' ?

Alternatively, you could use some form of third party tool to parse the logs from the LOGS\ directory and get some stats out of that. However, that directory will only show you stats from the SharePoint applications, and not stats for visits to the website.

For stats on vists and site activity, you'll be wanting to use the IIS logs, which'll give you much more information. Here are some suggestions for Log analyzer tools

R – SPSite.Exists() returns true although the site collection doesn’t exists

Same for me. I had a similar problem after I deleted a site-collection I still got true for SPSite.Exists(); The strange thing was, that if i opened the deleted site-collection URL in a browser - the first request resulted in a HTTP 400 error message, whereas the second request was the expected HTTP 404.

My workaround was to just create a HTTP GET for the URL to create the first request and then check for site existence again.

This issue has been resolved. I had forgotten to post the resolution...

Three settings needed to be modified. Workflow Throttle, Workflow Batch, and the Hidden Workflow Timer.

You can check the current throttle setting by running the following command:

stsadm -o getproperty -pn workflow-eventdelivery-throttle

Here is my new setting:

stsadm -o setproperty -pn workflow-eventdelivery-throttle -pv "45"

You can check the current batch size setting by running the following command:

stsadm -o getproperty -pn workitem-eventdelivery-batchsize

Here is my new setting.

stsadm -o setproperty -pn workitem-eventdelivery-batchsize -pv "250"

You can check the current interval setting by running the following command, in which you replace the URL with a valid path to a SharePoint application:

stsadm -o getproperty -pn job-workflow -url http://yoursiteurl

Here is my setting:

stsadm -o setproperty -pn job-workflow -pv "Every 5 minutes between 0 and 59" -url http://yoursiteurl
