Is there any free media player control library that allows us to play videos in a .NET Compact Framework application?

If you need a player for Windows CE (i.e. not Windows Mobile) there's an open-source one for DShow available on Codeplex.

You could use the MediaPlayer with COM interop. Have a look at this and this.

Also, Media Player may not be installed in your device.

CF .NET requires you to use the signature: Encoding.GetString Method (array[], Int32 index, Int32 count) so try using:
