R – n as3 video player that runs in flash player 9.0.16.0

There is a known issue in Flash Player 9.0.16.0. It has to do with the FullscreenEvent. I guess because of that the FLVPlayback component doesn't work with this version of the player.

I don't want to reinvent the wheel and build another FLV Player using the Video class.

Does anyone know about a FLV Player that runs in Flash Player 9.0.16.0 ?

The Jeroen or JW Player used to work on Flash 8. Here is the site for the most recent incarnations:

The player for earlier versions were open source and are what most video players were built on.

ALSO, given the flash player penetration for version 10 and 9, I wouldn't worry about any issues occuring with that early version of Flash 9.

Being a Red5 developer, I have never heard of such a thing happening. It is extremely odd that an HTTPS or RTMPS request would be made while seeking unless you were already connected using SSL. I have heard that the FLVPlayback component was "flaky" when used with Red5, but this is a new thing; were you on an HTTPS page?

Flash CS4 refuses to let go

Flash still has the ASO file, which is the compiled byte code for your classes. On Windows, you can see the ASO files here:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS4\en\Configuration\Classes\aso

On a Mac, the directory structure is similar in /Users/username/Library/Application Support/

You can remove those files by hand, or in Flash you can select Control->Delete ASO files to remove them.
