Google +1 Button – Embed Without JavaScript or Iframes

Is there a way to embed the Google +1 (plus one) button without the use of JavaScript or an iframe? Don't care about the counter of other people who also clicked the plus one since that's probably only something you can pull from the JavaScript version.

Google runs you through a wizard to add the +1 button to your website. What's generated is a few lines of JavaScript that your site/page needs to include in order to display the button.

For other sites like Twitter, delicious, reddit and even Facebook, you can send a link only version of their version of crowdsourcing social happy times.

You can also make that an inline version to send in emails or even drop in forums. Something you'd also be able to drop into a Tumblr post or such where they might not let you include either JavaScript or iframes in posts.

Is there a workaround to having an inline, non JavaScript or iframe version, of the Google +1 button?

A standard, simple hyperlink way of +1ing something (and sharing to Google+) is now making the rounds on blogs (couldn't find an official source, so it may still be undocumented):

https://plusone.google.com/_/+1/confirm?hl=en&url=%URL

Replace %URL with the URL. This is what shows up in the Google+ stream:

Google Docs – Embed Google Spreadsheet

From today (2016-05-20) on, Google is starting to roll out the ability to embed a chart from a Google spreadsheet into a Google document. At this point, two of my 3 Google accounts make the option available in the Insert menu, with a new Insert→Chart submenu below the Insert→Drawing… item.

When you insert such charts, they remain linked to the original spreadsheet. If all you want is tabular data, there's a table chart type that you can use to present your data as a simple table.

There are some limitations at this stage (e.g. regarding the size of the chart) and the chart must pre-exist in the spreadsheet before you can insert it, but this is going in the right direction…

To insert a spreadsheet or table, use Add a table from Google Sheets by copy-pasting from Sheets to Docs and choose the linked option.

The chart is not updated live if you modify the source spreadsheet while your document is opened, however, the document will detect changes and give you an Update button above the embedded spreadsheet to reflect the latest changes in the source.

Given the following URL:

You want to place the bold part in one of these templates:

XML: http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/HERE/public/basic
ICAL: http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/HERE/public/basic.ics
HTML: http://www.google.com/calendar/hosted/HERE/embed?src=HERE

instead of the word HERE.

For example, if you wanted to use XML, use:

http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/example.com_ecafa7el7kc4du1ervkdff4x6a%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic

This requires the calendar to be public, which I assume it is, since there is an embeded version of it available.
