I was looking at my girlfriend's (non-Timeline) Facebook page, and noticed that where it used to say she's in a relationship with me is now gone.
Was there a recent change to make this information automatically hidden, or is it still done manually?
I should probably just ask her, but I'd rather know if there was a change in that setting first.
This indicates that you have set this to not publish. You will need edit your privacy settings and allow Facebook to share this information.
Customize settingsRelationships and choose who you want to share this information with.I would imagine that if you want to publish your Relationship status change then you will have to set it back before changing your privacy settings.
Once you have amended your privacy settings then update your Relationship Status to "separated" and it should publish this to your wall.

How you control who can see your Relationship Status has now been moved.
AboutBasic Info click EditRelationship Status to the far right of the box is a small drop down that lists who this information is visible to.
There is no way to selectively bulk unsubscribe from status updates ("Hide Story").
When you hide a story the following notice appears
Then if you hide all posts from the user/page in question will no longer appear in your News Feed.
You can however use the Subscriptions page to change your subscriptions of users and friends

There doesn't appear to be any of the usual uproar that accompanies a change in Facebook's settings on this front. Facebook is in the process of forcing people onto the timeline format, so possibly it is associated with that change over.
On the whole, it is probably easiest to ask her.
