How do I leave a network?
To leave a supported network:
- Open the Account dropdown menu at the top right corner of Facebook and choose Account Settings.
- Click Edit next to Networks.
- Click Remove next to the network name you wish to remove.
- Click Save Changes.

It seems that you are now able again to remove your primary network. I just did it. There is a new Remove link next to your primary network and... voilà!
It appears there's no way to do this, unfortunately.
What I ended up doing was to do the going-forward arrangement, and then work back a couple of months, making corrections manually (#1). Better than nothing. There is also the issue of my comments on others' posts being visible. In my case, I think this is "good enough", though I do wish there was a better solution available (without programmering).
It might be possible to use the Facebook API to achieve this, but I didn't see anything ready-made with some quick searching.

A Facebook account comes already with a Jabber ID,
jid@chat.facebook.comand the password is the same as your account.You can find it in the profile; it's called "username" or something like that.
However, a few months ago when you try to use and external XMPP client, Facebook will alert you to allow such type of connection. And now you can't use any unofficial XMPP client. Facebook has blocked such access.
