Facebook – How to remove yourself from an event on Facebook

How do I remove an event from My Events? I can't find the old "Remove This Event" link anymore.
Best Answer
To remove yourself from the guest list (as opposed to simply declining).
Decline the event.
Go to the event page.
Bring up the guest list. (Click on "Going" "Maybe" or "Invited")
Switch the view to Declined using the drop-down.
Find your name.
Hover over your name and notice the X to the right of it. Click that X and it will ask you if you want to remove the event.
This might not work with private events
NOTE: If you have not responded/RSVP'd to the event, simply click on the event. Do not RSVP. Your name will appear as one of the first names on the left, which will make it easier to remove instead of going through the Declined dropdown.
It seems that you can no longer remove your primary network:
EDIT 02/10/2011:
It seems that you are now able again to remove your primary network. I just did it. There is a new Remove link next to your primary network and... voilà!
Actually, there is a way to remove an event. You have first to join or decline, then you click on the "going" list or "Maybe" list. You'll find yourself & a small "x" next to it.
Click "x" to remove the event.
