I'd like to use my Facebook account for my OpenID accounts. How can I do this?

Facebook uses OAuth, while Google, Yahoo, AOL, and MySpace use OpenID.

For sites that only accept OpenID, you won't be able to use Facebook. Many sites accept both OpenID as well as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Windows LiveID, etc., that are other non-OpenID solutions.

Note: The Federated Login Service is disabled by default for Google Apps Premier and Education Editions. The domain admin can enable it from the Control Panel at http://www.google.com/a/cpanel/<your-domain>/SetupIdp.

The OpenID URL for Google Apps is something like:

https://www.google.com/a/<your-domain>/o8/ud?be=o8

What to do when your OpenID provider shuts down

On Stack Exchange, it's relatively easy to add a new Open ID provider to your account. (It's right next to the "edit" link on your profile.) Then you can authorize with either.

As far as other sites that use Open ID...that depends on the site.

Unfortunately, MyOpenID.com shut down earlier this year. Since I use Google extensively I've moved to Google's Open ID solution. I don't see them disappearing any time soon.
