For a quick and geneal solution, you could give feedmyinbox a go. It lets you set up email alerts for any RSS feed. Your wordpress blog offers comment RSS feeds out of the box.
Facebook has updated their Groups allowing this feature. This does not work for old groups though only newly created groups.
The settings for new groups can be seen in the upper right of that group page.

Have you tried going to:
Account Settings>Notifications>EventsMake sure all of the appropriate check marks are checked/unchecked and see if that does it.
