I do not use Facebook very much but I remeber reading some documentation a long time ago about Facebook apps being available by third-party developers.
Where do I view the list and how can I browse and install some of these (just like Android and iPhone users can download and install apps from the respective play store or equivalent)??
There is a greasemonkey script for blocking all pending invitations you currently have but there is obviously no way to block all applications in facebook with one click - this would pretty much destroy the whole business model of facebook.
It shouldn't be too stressful to block the apps as they come - I did this for one week and now it happens VERY VERY rarely that I ever see a new app on my wall. There are 5 to 10 annoying apps that are wide spread - once you blocked them it should be very quiet on your wall.
On each post there is a timestamp at the lower right, usually after the number of comments and likes on the post.
Click the timestamp and you'll be taken to a page focussing on just that wall post like so:
From there you can keep clicking "View previous comments" to reveal all previous comments.

Facebook currently lists games this way
Point your browser to https://www.facebook.com/games/
From there you should be able to search for other apps as well and send it to mobile to install.
