Any idea why sometimes I cannot share somebody else's status on Facebook? We are friends and some of their statuses I cannot share because the 'share' link is missing under their status.
It looks I can share whatever she shared but not her own updates.

On the Facebook wall,on the right hand of your recent activity you’ll find a button from where you get two options, to remove the post (nothing new) and “hide all friending activity” A popup window needs your confirmation. Also there you have a link to your profile story settings manager. You can access at any time this settings.
Same thing and with the “like” notifier. You can now hide all “like” activity. Actually, you have now a more flexibility in set the privacy options for almost all things what are posted on your Facebook wall. Test this settings yourself!
The profile story settings manager unfortunately is not easy to be find. You can spend time to take a look in any profile or account setting but you never find it. The link for this settings is placed at very bottom of your Facebook wall. Scroll down your wall, wait to load stories, scroll again and there you will find the link pointed in the previous screenshot.
It sounds like the user has blocked you. In that case you cannot see their posts or comments or their profile and also they cannot see your posts or comments or profile. You will not be able to block them except by email address, but they are already effectively blocked so there is nothing you need to do.
Of course, if they have a friend or family member that can see the post then that person may have shown it to them, or if the post was public then they can see it without even logging in.
In the past it was possible for someone to block you so that you could not see them, and then they could log in when you are not on and unblock you so that they could read your comments, and then block you again when they were done. To stop that, Facebook now requires that you wait 48 hours after clicking on "Unblock" before they are actually "unblocked" and also you can't "Block" the same person for 4 days after clicking on the "Unblock". So if someone is blocking and unblocking you, you will have at least 48 hours to see them (and block them if you wish) before they can block you again.

I would assume that this feature is restricted only to links and not status messages, as documented in the Facebook help pages
