There are some companies that will email me and make it nearly impossible to unsubscribe.
I'm looking for a way to create a rule to auto-archive or delete their email. The problem is that creating a rule like that takes too long and gets me out of the flow of answering email.
Is there a way to quickly create this kind of rule — ideally with a single click?
Both the individual message action menu (
) and the More Actions menu (
) have a Filter message like these option. You can do this from an individual thread or select multiple emails and use the More Actions menu.
There isn't any way to send these into an existing filter without going through the long edit process.
Use the advanced search operator. In the search box, type from: lyn and you'll get an auto-complete of email addresses. Pick the one you want and you'll get all email from that person. You can also use to: lyn to see email you sent them.
