I have a list in a Google Document that I would like to restlye with CSS. Unfortunately Google Docs no longer allows using CSS/HTML styling within the app itself. What would I need to do to get information from a Google Document and turn the data into a standalone site styled with my own CSS?n Would it involve using a script of some sort? Scraping the info somehow with Regex? Perhaps the Google Drive API would help me?

Yes, Google has removed the feature to roll back to the previous version. Whenever Google Changes it user-interface (for any of its services), it's in a testing phase and the users are allowed to switch back to the old one and also give comments on the new one. This is just to see if there are a sufficient number of users who are finding the new-interface comfortable and also so that if there happens to be any bug in the new interface, the users can easily roll back and continue with their work.

After the testing phase is over, and google is sure that there are no bugs in the new interface and that the majority of the users are happy with it, the option of the old interface vanishes.

This has happened several times in GMail.

Instead of to ::selection, apply the new background color to the class .kix-selection-overlay, like such:

.kix-selection-overlay {
    background:#2f65c0;
    color:#ffffff;
}

PS: the background color is fairly subtle, but it wasn't difficult to see at all for me. You might want to adjust the color contrast of your screen to see if it helps.
