I misspelled a word and accidentally added it to the spell checker dictionary in Google Documents. How can I remove it?
When I google the problem I see many results and questions from 2010 and 2011, so I can't tell if it's been fixed since then or just never been fixed.
One way to have your "dictionary" include spellings from other languages is to translate the document into the language you desire. This will create a copy of the document in the language you choose.
Though this way may produce some weird results, I find that once translated the "spell check" does provide corrections with the translated language, though it will also still correct English spellings.
An example of one weird result I've seen while translating from an English document to a German one had Sprechen sie deutsch translated to Do you speak English. Though, it appears this may have happened because the document had been translated multiple times between languages before translating it back to English, where I added the line which spell check corrected it for German spelling.
Another weird result was the translation failing to separate words causing the "spell check" to flag the word, but it did give the correction in the language it was translated to.

As @w3d pointed out, is not an issue with Gmail configuration, but my browser's. I'm using Firefox 14.0.1 and the method to disable the spell checker (in order to avoid spell checking in Gmail composer) is deselecting the option in Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> "Check my spelling as I type".

Editing my post, Google just released the Personal Dictionary. Once I see documentation in the support files I will post.
In your Google Doc, go to Tools > Personal Dictionary and all of your spelling additions will be stored there. You will be able to add or remove custom words.
To add a word, right click the underlined word and select Add to personal Dictionary.
To remove the word, right click the word and select Remove from Personal Dictionary.
Again, this is brand new to Google Docs and once I have a support file I will post it here.
