On google docs, I make the font that I want, go under normal text, and select update normal text to match. But EVERY TIME I open a new docs, it's not the font that I set as normal text.
What could be the problem?

They seem to have updated the possible keyboard shortcuts. With the new keyboard shortcuts, it also works now on my keyboard with the German layout.

I found a workaround.
- Select a piece of text in the document.
- Ctrl+Alt+H opens the
Helpmenu. - Arrow down puts the focus in the
Search all menusmenu. - Type "cour", hit Enter.
Click the upper ruler on the top of the document, click "add left tab stop", then adjust it to 4 spaces from the "left indent".

Go to "format", "paragraph styles", "options", and then press "Save as my default styles"
