Google-drive – Uploading Styled HTML to Google Docs

I find that when I upload Styled HTML to Google Docs, eg. with CSS

.underline { text-decoration: underline; }
.del { text-decoration: line-through; }
mark { background: yellow }

None of these will take effect. However if I use CSS produced when downloading a Google Docs as HTML like

.c9 {
    text-decoration:underline;
}

It works. Can I say that Google does not take into considerations any CSS?

The latest version of Google Docs strips (most) CSS and the feature to edit HTML or edit CSS will not be returning.

I presume this is done to maintain consistency across multiple devices, especially mobile, which now supports document editing.

Instead of to ::selection, apply the new background color to the class .kix-selection-overlay, like such:

.kix-selection-overlay {
    background:#2f65c0;
    color:#ffffff;
}

PS: the background color is fairly subtle, but it wasn't difficult to see at all for me. You might want to adjust the color contrast of your screen to see if it helps.

Yes, it is very possible. Here is how:

Have the person create a collection just for the data you want to give him. Have him share that collection with you (make sure he gives you edit permissions).
Open the Google Drive web interface and drag the collection from "Shared with me" to "My Drive"
Get the Google Drive desktop app (if you don't have it already, click on "Download Google Drive" in the web interface)
While setting up Google Drive, used the Advanced options to choose which collections to sync.
Choose the collection (currently empty) that was created in step 1
Copy the files you want to upload into that collection (folder) on your hard drive. It will then sync the files to their Google Drive folder.
When you are finished, just stop syncing the Collection and/or he can un-share the collection with you.

It may look complicated, but it's actually much simpler than you might think. I use this for shipping very large amounts of data around. The fact Google Drive has a maximum file size of 10Gb helps too.
