I want to delete all of my Dropbox files (before I delete my account).
I want them to be removed from any kind of history too.
But I have already uninstalled the Dropbox software from all devices.
How can I delete all files using just the web interface at dropbox.com?
In the web interface click repeatedly the second column header, i.e. Type until it shows Size - then you will see the size of all the items in the current folder.
In the latest version it is now a drop-down that you can click and select Size.
It appears that the files were not mine to delete after all.
Right clicking on the folder brings up the context menu - the first option of which is Shared Folder Options. Clicking on that option shows the following dialog:
In this case I'm the only member on the list so it's safe to delete the folder. In the other folder there were more names on the list - the person who shared the folder in the first place and others. In this case it would NOT be safe to delete the folder as it would delete it for everyone else as well.
The correct action here is to click on the "Leave folder" option. You get the option to keep the files on your computer and then on OK your usage is reduced by the size of the files that were in the folder.

It is now simpler than this.
On the Dropbox website, there are now checkboxes that appear when you move the mouse cursor over the top filename. Check the first box. This will cause all the top-level file checkboxes to be checked. Then choose delete.
