Subscribing to a blog is possible via RSS and/or Atom. But when I search for it on Google, the results show how to do this for the author. I mean how can an author of a blog provide a facility to allow subscribing via email?
I want to receive new posts by email.
You can actually effectively search even private blogs by entering your search in the NavBar at the top of the screen. Sadly, the "Search This Blog" widget doesn't work for some reason.
You can find the settings for the NavBar (which is ugly, in my opinion) under the "Layout" settings of your Blogger blog.
If you use Dropbox, here's a quick solution using Google Audio Player:

That would give you an audio player in your blog post allowing visitors to play.
As for the download option, simply provide the direct-link to your audio file.

To enable Follow by Email, click the Add a Gadget link from the Design -> Page Elements tab, and then select the Follow by Email gadget which should be at the top of the list.
Once you add the gadget, readers visiting your blog can then just enter their email address and click Submit.
