Comments – How to Lock a Thread in Disqus or Close Site for Comments

Is there any way to lock a thread for comments or to lock down comments on a whole site on Disqus?

Go to your Disqus Admin panel
Find the comment from the thread you want to close.
Click anywhere on the comment to expand it.
Hover the mouse over the Find... button and list menu will appear where the last option is All comments from this thread, click it.
In the new page, there will be the Close button in the right sidebar.

I used the fact that the {PostID} variable is empty for static pages.

So declare a CSS class like this:

.hiddenOnStaticPages {
    display: none;
}

Then wrap the comments link (and the actual comments) in a div like this:

<div class="hiddenOnStaticPages{PostID}">
Comment HTML goes here...
</div>

It's managed in Disqus settings, not on Tumblr.

Log into your Disqus account
Go to the account that needs the change (the first page when logged in is the dashboard)
Click on Settings (the right-most tab)
Click on Appearance
Scroll down to the Comment Count Link group of settings (almost at the end of the page)
There you'll see three editable text fields labeled Zero Comments, One Comment, and Multiple Comments. Change the text in them to whatever you want.
Click the big blue button Save Changes at the bottom of the page
