Ny way to “turn down the volume” of a particular user on Tumblr

There are a couple of people I follow on Tumblr that post a lot and when they do it seems to be several posts at a time. While I do want to see their posts (I am following them after all), I would rather see a bit less of them. To be fair, it's the volume of reposts (or "reblogs" in Tumblr terminology) that I want to reduce not their original content.

There is the ignore option – but I'm assuming that that will remove everything and I don't want that.

Is there anything else I can do?

As far as I know, Tumblr does not provide any settings to change the frequency of given blogs' posts' appearing on the Dashboard.

It is possible to filter out and hide posts from your Dashboard based on words that show up in their titles, contents, and/or tags using the third-party browser extension Tumblr Savior (available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera). However, you will need to have specific keywords in mind, and this, too, will completely hide (from your Dashboard, not actual blogs) any posts contain at least one match in terms on your blacklist, based on the options you set.

Found a way of doing it! Wrap it in PermalinkPagination blocks:

{block:PermalinkPagination}
   ...disqus code...
{/block:PermalinkPagination}

PermalinkPagination only shows on posts (actually, it only shows on posts if they have a previous and/or a next post, so it won't work on blogs with only one post) and not static pages. You can use it within the context of a PermalinkPage block to include content that should only show on post pages rather than static pages.

You can use PermalinkPagination numerous times in the template.

Quick way to edit a specific Tumblr post

Mehper's answer no longer works, as Kirk Woll mentions. As of Feb 2015, you need the following URL to edit:

https://www.tumblr.com/edit/<post_id>?redirect_to=%2Fblog%2F<blog_name>

Replacing < post_id> with your post ID # (example: 406783219) and replacing < blog_name> with the domain of your blog, without the tumblr.com part (example: staff).

https://www.tumblr.com/edit/406783219?redirect_to=%2Fblog%2Fstaff

Obviously, you have to be logged in to your account first, and have the appropriate edit permissions.
