I am a part of a group which all have the same boards. However, there is not a "button" or "link" on my board that allows me to add a card to it. What could be wrong with my account? Our admin on the account wants everyone to be able to add a card to their boards so that everyone can see each other's boards and cards. Please explain what might be wrong.

There are only up to 5 or 6 lists that can be viewable at the same time.
So the two options would be to use:
- A Card as the feature and the description for user stories
- A List as the feature and Card for user stories
In the first option I would imagine it would have to be something like

In the second option you can use this Chrome Extension to take care of your user points and let cards handle user stories. As you said this can be come unmanageable with next up/in progress/review/ so then you would have to keep the tracking cards to the left and the feature to the right on your board. When a new activity appears on a board ensure it is "bubbled" to the left as the most recent feature update. Assigning members can also ensure nothing is forgotten.
Trello now offers an invite collaborators by URL feature (currently in beta).

Invite people by giving them a special link… - Place the URL in a conspicuous place like your website or a Readme card of some sort along with some instructions for your collaborators.

You may be a member of the 'Organisation' but not explicitly a member of the 'Board'. You can probably browse to the Board, but not make any changes, add cards, etc.
Once you are a 'member' or 'admin' of the Board, you'll be able to do all these things.
In summary, you need to be added to the individual boards as well as the organisation.
